After suffering a head injury in a fall at home, Mamata Banerjee gets stitches.

New Delhi: Following a fall at her residence, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sustained a “major injury” to her forehead. After receiving sutures, the chief minister was allowed to leave the hospital.
When the required examinations were completed, the chief minister was brought to her home. Abhishek Banerjee, Ms. Banerjee’s nephew, as well as other family members went with her.
Photos of Ms. Banerjee on a hospital bed with blood on her face and a severe gash in the center of her forehead were released today by the All India Trinamool Congress. Following a fall at her residence, the Chief Minister was transported to the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

“Mamata Banerjee, our chairman, suffered a serious injury. Kindly remember her in your prayers,” the party wrote on X.

“I’m hoping for a quick recovery for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In a post on X, Trinamool Congress state president Sukanta Majumdar said, “Our prayers are with her for a speedy return to good health.”
India’s vice president, Jagdeep Dhankar, expressed his profound distress and wished for a swift recovery when he asked the chief minister’s well-being.
The Chief Minister was seen on camera being wheeled into the hospital’s Neurosciences Department while wearing a bandage over her forehead.
