PM Modi will arrive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on Saturday evening, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and he will attend many significant engagements.
Silchar: According to a statement from the Assam chief minister’s office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Assam on Saturday night for a two-day visit during which he would lay the groundwork and launch projects valued at ₹11,600 crore.
The CMO said on X on Saturday, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be in Assam to dedicate a slew of development projects to the people.”
The PM is scheduled to speak at a sizable public gathering at Khanapara Veterinary College Field in Guwahati. There, he will lay the foundation stone for two major projects: the ₹831 crore project to convert Guwahati’s Nehru Stadium into a FIFA-standard football stadium and the ₹500 crore Maa Kamakhya Divyalok Pariyojana project.
Additionally, the PM will introduce the ₹3,444 crore Asom Mala 2.0 project, which would repair 43 state highways and build 38 bridges.
The CMO said that the PM will lay the cornerstone for three projects: ₹300 crore for Chandrapur Stadium, a project worth ₹578 crore that will improve sports facilities; ₹297 crore for Unity Mall Development, which will develop commercial and recreational spaces; and ₹300 crore for Karimganj Medical College.
The CMO lists two more projects: constructing a ₹358 crore widening of the road that connects Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and a ₹3,250 crore investment to upgrade the medical facilities at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister, emphasized the government of India’s efforts to revitalize temples.
