Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is renamed by the Congress

NEW DELHI: The Congress has chosen to rename the next yatra conducted by Rahul Gandhi from Manipur to Mumbai.

The yatra, dubbed ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, is rescheduled to start on January 14.

Party leaders, including Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, state in-charges, state unit heads, and leaders of the Congress Legislature Party, met and made the decision. Mallikarjun Kharge, the party chairman, presided over the gathering at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi.

Formerly known as the Bharat Nyay Yatra, the yatra would traverse 15 states, including Arunachal Pradesh, over a distance of more than 6,713 miles.

It will be done on foot and in busses.

About 100 Lok Sabha seats, 110 districts, and 337 assembly segments are all intended to be covered by the yatra.

Ramesh stressed that leaders of the INDIA bloc had been asked by the Congress to take part in the yatra. Presently, invitations to the event are being distributed.

Like the earlier Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Ramesh expressed hope that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will have a revolutionary effect on politics.

The Congress hopes that the yatra would foster national unity, justice, and a spirit of togetherness among people.
