Farmer Protest News Delhi Chalo Live Updates: March halted for two days following the Khanauri incident.

Farmers Protest in Delhi Chalo Live Updates: Union Minister Arjun Munda welcomed farmer representatives to the fifth round of discussions on Wednesday, where they discussed issues such as MSP demand, crop diversification, stubble management, and FIR. Farmers are yet to confirm whether they will engage in further discussions with the government after rejecting the Centre’s proposal for MSP on five crops over five years.

Meanwhile, the Haryana Police stated in a video message that 12 cops were “seriously injured” during the riots at the Data Singh-Khanori border. The police stated that “protesters surrounded the police from all sides.” They threw chilli powder on the stubble and torched it. They attacked the cops with sticks and maces. Stone pelting was also carried out.

Farmers, who had been lobbying the Union government to accept their requests for a legal guarantee on the minimum support price, implementation of the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, pensions for farmers and farm labourers, and farm debt relief, were disappointed with the government’s response. Farmer representatives said the proposal was not in their best interests, and they would want a formal MSP guarantee for all 23 crops, not just pulses, maize, and cotton.

The farmers are overseen by two umbrella groups, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), which each represent 200 farm unions.
